MG’s ZS EV is famous for its range, cabin space and riding comfort, and is a strong option already available in the market. - BYD Sealion 7, BMW iX1, Volvo EX30

What does the 10 year/2,00,000km battery warranty for VF7 cover?
The 10 year/2,00,000 km battery warranty offered on the VinFast VF7 is one of the longest and most comprehensive guarantees in the segment in India. The warranty covers battery pack performance, manufacturing defects, and failures due to normal use—i.e., the company will be responsible for replacing or repairing the battery unless there is user error, accident, or warranty exclusion.
What is covered?
- Repair or replacement of the battery pack in case of manufacturing defects, cell failure, or electrical failure.
- Free repair/replacement if the overall performance of the battery falls below the limits prescribed by the company.
- Unforeseen failures related to electrical connections, internal circuits, and the control module.
- Warranty is valid for 10 years or 2,00,000 km (whichever is earlier)
Additional benefits with a warranty
- Free charging on VinFast’s VGreens chargers till July 2028.
- Free maintenance for 3 years.
- 7 airbags and advanced safety features are standard across variants.
What is not covered (Warranty Exclusions)
- Accident, submersion, fire or careless misuse.
- Unauthorised service or modification.
- Regular wear and tear, such as coolant, wires, fuses, etc.
This warranty from VinFast gives the premium EV customer in India long-term protection and peace of mind without having to bear the hefty cost of battery replacement.
What would be the 468km ARAI range of the VF6 in true Indian driving conditions?
The range of the VinFast VF6 is quoted by ARAI as 468km, but in true Indian driving conditions—traffic, heat, AC usage, and mixed city-highway conditions—the actual range will usually be less. The real-world range of the VF6 on Indian roads is estimated to be around 340–370 km.
Why does the range drop in Indian conditions?
- Constant stop-start traffic drains the battery faster.
- Heat and AC usage increase energy consumption.
- The motor also draws more power at 80–100km/h on the highway.
In real-world tests, most electric cars have a range that is 15–25% less than the ARAI data. The VF6 will offer a real-world range of around 340-370 km on a single full charge in Indian conditions, which is sufficient for a middle-class family.
VinFast’s debut with the VF 6 and VF 7 marks a bold entry into India’s competitive EV market. Locally assembled, competitively priced, and backed by a robust ecosystem, these EVs bring serious value for buyers seeking premium, sustainable mobility. With tech-rich features and future model rollouts every six months, VinFast is poised to shake up the EV space in India. Watch this space as the company attempts to redefine premium electric ownership across the country.
